... and you should say it how?

2010 = "Twenty - Ten"

... and while I'm on the subject

.. of dumbed down TV to the masses. How stupid do Network 9 think we are - in 2009 the heavily advertised a 'Seinfeld Reunion', but failed to say that it was actually an episode of Larry David's 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' where one of the storylines was to do a Seinfeld reunion show (David was Seinfeld co-creator). 9 played one episode out of the middle of the current series, so all the other storylines made no sense at all.
How about showing the whole season !!

oops... another year

Another year passes... There is now an "All New Sunrise for 2010' on Network 7. Unfortunately they do not understand the meaning of 'All' and 'New', so it is just the same straight people providing dumbed down TV for the masses...

Sports Desk

Sport is good... sometimes it is great!
Just this weekend...
SuperBowl: ...longest touchdown play ...biggest comeback (almost) ... 27-23 winning TD with 35 seconds to play.

NZ v AUST 1 day cricket: ...NZ wins on last ball ...bad umpiring ...cheating allegations ...blind australians (the ball hit the bails... not) ... then Ricky gets 'rested'

Aus Open Tennis: Boring Blubbing Roger gets beaten in 5 by Rafa ...who had to play the longest game in Open history to win the semi

Goodbye George

"Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?" - George Bush (The President)
"Me fail English? That's unpossible." - Ralph Wiggum (The Simpsons)

Ausralian TV

...Of course the free to air networks are required to show a minumum 55% local content, which doesn't excuse showing awful imported programs instead of great ones... how does Two and a Half Men get a prime time slot. To make matters worse NZ programs get included in Australian quota (Closer Economic Relations and all that) but again it is often the crap reality type (police, customs etc). Watching how the Auckland Police deal with a broken down Cortina on the Harbour Bridge is hardly rivetting... but then there is always bro'Town or Outrageous Fortune.

30 Rock rocks..

Speaking of 30 Rock…

I think it is excellent television, and has won Emmys and Golden Globe awards for the show as  well as for Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. Yet Australian TV continues to shun it, based in theory on the Australian public shunning it – which is easy to do if it is shown at 11pm … luckily the Interweb allows me to watch the shows soon after they screen in the US (S3 has great guest stars including Steve Martin, Oprah, Jennifer Aniston, Salma Hayek…). Mad Men, which won Best Drama series (Emmys and GGs) only made it to Movie Extra, Nine choosing to only offer it online at ninemsn for a fee…

…the media also say that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Oscars shun Nicole Kidman – which is easy to do cos she is crap…

[Yes, yes… I also download and watch 90210 since it was axed by Channel 10 :)]
